Hi Patrick, When I first read your review, I thought that you must have us confused with another store. In the 90 years that we have been in business, Kloiber Jewelers has never had to involve lawyers in a customer dispute. It wasnt until a few moments after reading your review and seeing your name, did I recognize the situation you were referring to. Since it has been a few years since this occurred, I apologize if I leave out any information. Please let me know if thats the case. About three years ago, you came into our store looking for an engagement ring to surprise your girlfriend with. You wanted to have the ring by Christmas, which allowed us only five days to find and order several diamond options that fit your budget, select and create the perfect ring setting, and ultimately have the diamond placed in the setting. While this process usually takes a little more than five days, we were up to the challenge since we knew how much you wanted to have a Christmas engagement. When the ring was ready to be picked up, you mentioned that there was a detail on the ring that you didnt like. Since we wanted both you and your girlfriend to be absolutely in love with the ring, we offered to change that detail. However, doing so would set back your intended proposal date, so we suggested that you propose with the ring and then bring it back so we could make the ring into what you imagined it would look like. You thought this was a good idea until your credit card got declined, after which you demanded your initial deposit back. You can imagine our hesitation to give you this deposit back after we had spent a significant amount of money already on the diamond, the setting, labor, and shipping and insurance. You have to understand that after a jeweler has made the commitment to purchase a diamond from a vendor, the sale is expected to be final and no refunds will be issued. This is why we make sure that our clients are 100% in love with the diamond they selected before making that commitment. After you refused to pay for the rest of the diamond and demanded your initial deposit back, we were left with a significant amount of debt. Luckily, I have built a strong relationship with my diamond vendors over the 35 years I have been with Kloiber Jewelers, and after much effort, I was able to work out a deal and ultimately return the diamond. I gave you all of your money back minus the shipping charges and labor that we had already paid for. I am very sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience at Kloiber Jewelers. I always strive to go above and beyond the expectations of my clients because I know just how special they want the moment to be when they present their engagement ring to their significant other. They do not do business right. Not a place to attempt any important purchase. My experience with them was unbelievably terrible. Had to get a lawyer involved which is absolutely absurd.
