I love this store. The attention paid to the customer is top notch and selection is great; however, this was my last interaction with SC&L: My Blancpain GMT was due for a service, and as one of the few Blancpain service centers nearby, I confidently took my watch in. Once complete, I collected my watch, noted the date/time correctly set, and strolled out of the store. I wore the watch for several days, then set it aside. When I next wore the watch and attempted to set the date/time, it no longer worked as it did/should. No longer could I adjust the GMT hand with an accurate 'click'. Now, the hour hand would move instead when the crown was pulled to adjust the GMT hand. Also, after fiddling around until I could get the time to set correctly, and returning the crown to the winding position, the hour hand jumps anywhere from 10 - 30 off from the set time - absolutely infuriating. Now, this watch was serviced AGES ago, and I am certain that SC&L would have corrected the issue had I brought it to their attention - that is entirely my fault. HOWEVER...how did a watchmaker/servicer even contemplate permitting a watch to leave their bench without a full function check? Again, this service took place a long while back, and my solution has been to avoid wearing the watch until I get around to finding a place to correctly service it; a shame as the service cost was $900. I hate writing a negative review about SC&L, but good or bad, people should know what they may be in for.

I called the store two times today to inquire about a watch. Each time, I was transferred to the watch department where no one picked up. I decided to stop by the store in person (second floor where the watches are). One sales person was busy with customers (seated at a table). The other sales man was on his personal mobile phone, did not bother to say hi. I saw the watch I wanted (a Panerai) but the salesman who was not busy did not bother attending me. To add insult to injury, the phone rang on the floor and, again, nobody picked up.
I had a great experience at Shreve, Crump and Low on Newbury street. I bought Breitling watch and our agent was Tai who was very kind, knowledgable and professional. He was always available for any questions beyond our reserved appointment time to look into watches. Prior to the appointment, he already reached out so we can thoughtfully narrow down our choices by preference/color/budget/etc to make the best of our reserved appointment. Highly recommend.
Paul, First and foremost, thank you for your time in providing this feedback. We are deeply apologetic for not meeting your expectations of the stellar service we strive to provide to all of our customers. In today's fast-paced in-store and online sales environment we try to meet the challenges of offering high-end pre-owned timepieces at competitive values, sometimes we can price some of these pre-owned timepieces too competitively to a point when occasionally a watch sells immediately upon listing either in-store or online before it can be properly updated in our system. In this rare occasion the timepiece of interest sold in-store within 12 hours of listing it. While this explanation does not make up for your frustrations, we understand and would like to make it up to you as best as possible. Please contact our Shreve, Crump & Low management team via [email protected] at your earliest convenience, as we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet your expectation of providing you with an exceptional customer experience. Sincerely, Shreve, Crump & Low, Customer Service

Purchased a watch online and was told it would be ready to ship the next day. After submitting payment, got confirmation again. Then was told by Brian "sorry, we actually sold the watch" and now I have to wait days for my refund. No offers of any compensation for my troubles. Great company
