One of the disadvantages of being a small part time business is the limited ability to manage multiple tasks. Quality and craftsmanship are always a priority. I'm glad you found the final product outstanding. I am a sign carver and that's what I do best. I keep my costs low quality high.

While the craftsmanship of the sign I ordered was outstanding, the customer service that I received was utterly disappointing. I first contacted Jim the first week of July. I wanted to order my dad one of Jims Entering Adirondack Park signs for my dads 60th birthday the end of August. When I contacted Jim, I let him know what the sign was for, and when I was looking for it by. Jim told me it wouldnt be possible to have the sign ready when I was looking for it by (the first week of August), but he said the sign should be finished by Labor Day. Understandable, as I am sure that summer is a busy time. I agreed with completion by Labor Day. On July 21st, my credit card was charged. I heard no updates from Jim, so I figured all was well. Beginning of November, my dad lets me know he hasnt received the sign yet. I contacted Jim, inquiring about the delay. The only response was that it would be ready to ship by Saturday, November 7th. When I asked why I hadnt been advised as to such a significant delay, or the cause of said delay, Jim responded by saying he doesnt guarantee any delivery dates because he is a one-man operation and things happen. While I understand the struggles of owning your own business (my father is a small business owner himself), I found it concerning that I hadnt been advised things were going slower than what Jim forecasted. Alas, I accepted that the sign would be late without explanation. Jim sent me a picture of the sign letting me know it was finished and would be shipped that weekend. November 21st, I get notice from my dad that it still hasnt arrived. Dad decided to get in touch with Jim directly, and got much of the same explanation. Jim told dad he would have it the first week of December. December 8th, the sign is still not delivered. We gave Jim the ultimatum to either refund my $305 within 48 hours, or I would contest the charge with my credit card company, and my father would file a complaint with the BBB. Magically, the sign was shipped within 2 days, and was received on December 16th, 3.5 months after I was told it would be, and 5 months after I paid for it. The lack of communication and explanation as to the significant delay for a gift I had told Jim held significant meaning was extremely disappointing. The fact it took threats of legal reprisal to get the sign shipped was equally disappointing. While the sign looks great, the complete lack of communication and accountability left my family with a terrible impression. Not a good experience at all.

At your request a refund was given. Your frustration is understood and while most folks feel the signs are worth the wait, we can not keep everyone as happy. Feel free to reach out if there are any questions or concerns regarding your refund, in full. There will always be angry and frustrated customers. Some work with me and some are just bitter. Clearly, this is the case.

After paying for a custom sign in full in April and being given an estimated completion date of 8 weeks, I reached out to Jim in June and was told he was behind. I reached out again in July and received no response.. then August... Then again in August was told my sign would ship within 2 weeks. I reached out several more times requesting a refund if my order was unable to be completed. September and October go by and I'm assured, again, it's "top of the list" (Jim's words). I tell him I'm disappointed in the service as his own website mentions being communicative and up front with his customers and that after 7 MONTHS, he should be able to provide an estimated ship date or a refund (see screen shot below from his own website). Let me assure you, he is not only not responsive, but had the audacity to say that asking for my order was negativity he wanted to "walk away from". Meanwhile I'm still waiting for a refund on product undelivered, now almost in December. His response to another customer who had a similar experience last year was dismissive in the extreme, and I should have taken that review more seriously prior to agreeing to give this business any money
