Hello Ms. Gates, thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. The pupillary distance (aka PD) is one of the most crucial parts in the prescription glasses. If the measurements are off, sometimes it can cause harms to the eyes or even causing physical injuries upon walking. In the state of Florida, it is not required on the prescription. We are a small private practice and we treat all of our patients as part of our family. With this in mind, the patients' safety and eye health are our top priority. Therefore, charging a fee for a PD measurement is not worth risking our patients safety. When you purchase the glasses from us or any physical optical location, the trained optician will ensure that the PD and the optical center dot is placed correctly in front of your daughter's pupils. They also make sure that your daughter can see properly when she receive her glasses and trouble shoot if needed. Basically, online optical companies are pretty much taking a "guess" based on the glasses that you pick for your daughter and "hoping" that they will work for her. I took my daughter here for a comprehensive exam. The office staff was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. Dr. Sam took her time with my daughter, checking her eyes thoroughly & explaining things to me. Their equipment is modern & the office is beautiful & clean. My only complaint is that I asked for my daughter's pupillary distance and was told that I could have it if I purchased a pair of glasses from them. After my daughter tried on some frames & realizing it would cost $200+ ( even after Tam gave us a 25% discount), I asked Tam if I could have her PD so I could purchase her glasses elsewhere. I was then told it would be a liability if they gave me her PD. I'm confused as to how my own daughter's pupillary distance is a liability since they were able to give me all her other measurements on the prescription during the comprehensive exam. So I had to go to another local optometrist, who was able to measure her PD with a pupillometer for a small fee. I will definitely bring my daughter here again for her annual exams, as Dr. Sam is competent & treated my daughter well.

Just to let you know, we notate everything on a patient's file even if they call to check on their glasses. Although, it is extremely rare that our staff wouldn't call when the glasses arrived AND for the lens adjustment. I went to this doctor she was nice,competent and friendly. However, the staff is incompetent. NO ONE CALLED ME TO TELL ME MY GLASSES WERE READY EVEN THOUGH THEY PROMISED. This is basic customer service. I needed adjustments made to my lenses. NO ONE CALLED ME TO TELL ME THE LENSES WERE READY EVEN THOUGH THEY PROMISED. I was in town visiting and I wanted to use my vision benefits. My mom lives nearby and was passing by and they just happened to be ready. I REGRET going here. I don't do business with people who lack basic customer service and respect. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. I'm writing in caps because this is outrageous and I wouldn't reccomend anyone going there. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

To begin, I usually do not post or comment on an establishment however this is getting out of hand. My mother is an elderly women that had her eye exam here and was told that her lense for her glasses would be here in 2 weeks. 3 weeks later we called them and they stated that they were in the office. When we arrived, they failed to add the tents to the glasses. Now, they have to send it out again and have tents applied to the lens and we were told that it would be ready in two weeks. I travel for work out of state so I placed it in my calendar so that my sister can take her to pick it up in 2 weeks. Ok, two weeks later no one called so I waited an extra week and same thing. I called and they indicated that it is not ready. 1 month and then 2 months later still no lens. My mother relies on her tented glasses to function especially when she goes out. So, I arrived home from my travel job and just stopped by to see whats going on and same thing. I was told that they would call back today when ready. So, its been over 6 hours and I called the office and same thing. This is ridiculous, please do your self a favor and stay away from here. I have never had to wait two months for lens and its not because of COVID or holiday for the delay. Its the lack of respect for the client time. Shame on you. We are in the process of going to another eye clinic to receive proper and efficient care. My mother often uses Lens crafters but we were recommended here by a colleague. What a mess to be in. Two whole months and still no lens.
