Hi Katie - thanks for taking the time to respond! COVID did affect our supply chain quite a bit this summer, but in general, inventory is the hardest part of the business. We try to balance keeping ample inventory against the price we'd have to charge carry a significant excess, and it's difficult. That said, we hate back ordering items as much as you do. Our priority this off-season is in upgrading our inventory management and forecasting software/systems so that we can manage our stock more effectively and automate a lot of the replenishment process. You should see an improvement in our backorder rate this summer. We really appreciate your business, and will do everything we can to make your next experience better. We look forward to serving you for the next decade!

Hoping the owners take this as constructive criticism and not a review slamming their business. We recently relocated to TN and our kids are in private school, as they were in our previous state. The uniform store in our previous state (Dennis) was awful for the same reasons that Educational Outfitters has disappointed me. LACK. OF. INVENTORY. If you're not going to carry inventory in the store, don't have a store. When I go into the store, especially for the first time, it's imperative that I am able to see sizing for my kids, and every time, they are out of sizes I need so I have to look at another school's clothes for size comparison before going home and ordering online myself. They NEVER have the sizes I need. If I go in for 4 different items, they have 1 of the 4 available and it is so frustrating. I drove there to get what I needed in person. The owner, who I'm certain will see this and respond, is SO nice. But the answer is always "I can order it for you and you can have it in about a week". Well, if I wanted to order it, I'd of ordered it from the comfort of my desk at home and not made a trip to the store. I came into the store to buy it in person because I need it in less than a week. This was especially stressful when we were new to the school and needed uniforms for the first day of school in August. I came into the store to buy HUNDREDS of dollars in 3 kids worth of uniforms 2 weeks before school started, and ended up with pieces that I wasn't crazy about because they were out of stock on the stuff I wanted and wouldn't be getting a restock until a month later! IT'S AUGUST, YOU GUYS! I'm certain that they are aware that AUGUST is your biggest month of the year...it's so important to have inventory!! The staff is helpful and nice, but it's always a disappointing experience. MAYBE this is COVID related. Everyone uses the COVID excuse and I'm sure that there is validity to it, but it's still so frustrating. All uniform stores are the same, I was so incredibly happy to have a new uniform vendor for my kid's school clothes, and so hopeful that I was going to have a better experience with Educational Outfitters than I did with Dennis. I will be using Educational Outfitters for the next decade, as my kids will be in private school forever, so I'm really hoping that the in-store inventory issues can be resolved in the future.
