Great experience working with Troy! Once I closed on my cabin I told him we needed gutters on and other various projects. Told him when the cabin would be available to do the work and he had his crew out there working first thing during the available timeframe and the work was exceptional. I plan to use Troy for many projects my wife and I plan to undergo w/ our new cabin and I couldnt ask for a better company to put my trust in. Best quality and best price, hands down!
Troy and his team at 5 Star Cabin Restoration have been a godsend for me as a long-distance cabin owner. Without him, the last month starting up my cabins would have been a nightmare. What did he do for me? 1. Of course, he fixed all of the maintenance problems I identified, prior to our first guests arriving. 2. We were unable to get cable / WiFi for the LONGEST time... it took 1.5 weeks after I already left and gone home to CA, for Comcast to finally figure out how to give my cabin cable / WiFi. I was supposed to pick up the cable/WiFi set-up kit in person, but Troy's crew picked it up for me in Knoxville the next morning and spent 3 HOURS on the phone with me and Comcast, trying to troubleshoot and set up 9 TVs and WiFi. Oh, and when they found out one of the TVs was not working, he went immediately to Walmart to buy me a new smart TV as a replacement. He hustled and got all of this done just in time for my first guests to arrive at 4PM. 3. I found out that my main kitchen fridge was not working in the same cabin (and guest). He talked to my guest and got them to accept just using the full-sized fridge downstairs. In the meantime, he called several fridge repair companies and finally scheduled one to check out the fridge when the guest departed. (NOTE: These repair guys require CASH payment on the spot for service.). In the meantime, he also scoped out potential refrigerators to purchase in the surrounding cities, if we had to replace the fridge right away...He made an extra trip to the cabin to measure the space and everything to make sure we didn't end up buying the wrong fridge. Thank god the repair guy fixed it and we didn't have to buy a new fridge! And yes, Troy was there to pay the guy in cash. 4. Remember when I had a guest leave late saying that a ceiling leak had soaked and ruined her clothes, etc. I told him and he went there the same day to check it out...In fact, he got there so quickly that the guest was still there when he arrived! (and he respectfully waited for them to leave before entering). 5. #4 lead to us to find a possible fireplace/chimney/leak issue. Troy prioritized this as well, sending his drone up to the roof to take photos of the chimney. He then coordinated with his fireplace/chimney guy to come out and diagnose the issue. 6. Troy is my sounding board, advising me when something is worth prioritizing to fix/invest in now or next year so that I can grow my business and make some $ before investing in nice-to-haves. While he does one-off maintenance jobs and renovations (like major overhauls of bathrooms, kitchens, etc.), I've actually contracted him to be my maintenance manager. This means that when there's a maintenance issue, he's the first one there to check it out and evaluate what to do. He's also my "substitute" and emergency contact, dealing directly with guests and other vendors, as necessary (and checking to make sure they've completed their work too). If there are repairs/maintenance needed, his crew comes to fix it at reasonable prices. There have been more bumps within the last month since going live, but Troy and his team have been there for me through it all. WOW! What a difference Troy and his crew of craftsmen made to our home. > Removed the 19 year old 7 feet wide front steps. > Replaced steps with new construction built on-site 4 foot wide steps and stretched them just a little to add one addition step, which reduced the rise of each step, making them much easier to climb. > Pressure washed the front porch and prepped it for staining. > Applied 2 coats of solid deck stain. > Pressure washed the masonry foundation around the house. > Applied 2 coats of Loxon masonry paint. From the very start of quoting the job, all the way through driving the last screw, Troy communicated well. He said what he would do and did what he said. What a huge improvement to the curb appeal of our home and we are enjoying sitting out on the porch in the evenings.
Troy and his team built a new railing for our deck and did an amazing job! Quality work for a reasonable price, what more can you ask for? Cleaned up afterwards so our cabin was guest ready. They also do maintenance work for us and are always responsive and reliable. We could not recommend them more!!
Troy and his staff at 5 Star Cabin Restoration are amazing. I worked directly with Troy. They are professional, most helpful, and very dependable. Everything was completed in the timeframe specified. He went above and beyond, saw that to do the job properly additional work needed to be completed and he did it. A job well done. A separate emergency came about, I called Troy for his help and expertise, he took over contacted who he needed to, kept me in the loop, explained in detail what transpired and saw it through to the end. Troy and his company are the best, he's honest, doesn't pull any punches and always does what he says he's going to do.
