Google has announced that on November 3, 2025, it will discontinue the My Business Q&A API - the interface that allowed companies and developers to manage the “Questions and Answers” section in Google Business Profile listings. This is an important update for anyone who used this tool to automate customer service and reporting.

    What exactly will change?

According to the official information published in the Google for Developers changelog, after November 3, 2025:

    • it will no longer be possible to read or publish questions and answers using this interface,
    • data and reporting available through the API will be accessible only until the retirement date,
    • integrations built on the Q&A API will stop working as intended (because you will no longer be able to read or publish content via the API).

Until then, Google still allows access to existing data, so users can review and download it before the feature is turned off.

Why is Google discontinuing the Q&A API?

In its message to developers, Google stated that the decision is related to “updating the Questions and Answers functionality and user experience.” This means the company plans changes to how this feature works, but it has not provided any additional details on what the new version will look like or when it will be introduced.

What should businesses and developers do?

Google recommends updating all processes and systems that use the Q&A API before November 3, 2025. In practice, this means you should:

    • Identify which tools or integrations in your organization rely on this interface.
    • Secure existing data - download questions, answers, and any reports you may still need to analyze.
    • Adjust your workflows so systems do not produce errors after the API is turned off.

What about the “Questions and Answers” feature itself?

Google has not announced any changes to the visibility of the Q&A section in Google Business Profile after November 3, 2025. The official communication refers only to discontinuing the API, not to removing the feature from profiles.

It is therefore possible that after this date Q&A will have to be managed directly from the Google Business Profile account (the console), but the details are not yet known.

How to prepare for the API shutdown?

To avoid data loss and disruptions, it’s worth taking a few steps before November 3, 2025:

    • Make a copy of all Q&A data - download questions, answers, and reports if they are still available in your system.
    • Contact vendors of any tools that might have used this API to confirm they plan to update their solutions.
    • Follow official Google for Developers communications, as further updates about this functionality or its successor may still appear.

The shutdown of the My Business Q&A API on November 3, 2025, is a technical but significant change for companies that rely on integrations with Google Business Profile. After this date:

    • you will not be able to publish or read questions and answers through the API,
    • data will remain available only until the feature is turned off,
    • integrations based on the Q&A API will require rebuilding or will stop working as intended.

Google has announced an update to the Q&A functionality and user experience, but details are not yet known. Until then, it’s worth securing data and updating all solutions that used this interface.
